Larks is a musical troupe that seeks to bring joy and cheer to our local senior citizens through performances at area nursing homes and senior citizen centers. Our Larks are well-known throughout the community and even have recorded their own CD.

Current Musical Director, Joanna Hoty Russell, a voice teacher who earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music, taught music at Drew University for ten years. She is a member of the Early Music Players of New Jersey, and a section leader at St Peters Church in Essex Fells. Joanna is on the Board of Directors for Light Opera of New Jersey based in Basking Ridge. She also acts, directs, and auditions candidates for LONJ, and has been seen in the delightful Savoy Faire, a musical tribute to Gilbert and Sullivan. Joanna brings enthusiasm and joy to the Larks. She can sing all our parts!

The Larks, an integral part of Junior League service to the community for nearly 50 years, practice in the Fall and Winter, and troupe to schools, community events, nursing homes and hospitals in the Spring, bringing cheer to hundreds of people in Union, Essex, Somerset, and Morris counties.
